Landfill Fun

August 9, 2010

I spent the day with my friend and former roommate Meredith. There is one thing we try to do each time we see each other after a long absence: eat at Jumpin’ Jonny’s. We get the same thing each time and stuff ourselves silly with its goodness. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is a feat of culinary genius, not just in its flavor, but also its simplicity. Large hoagie bun, diced chicken covered in buffalo sauce, provolone cheese and bleu cheese crumbles. Hand-cut fries on the side. Magnificent.

A photo from my phone that does not do the view justice.

This evening we took a trek after dinner to a new park in Raleigh. This new park just happens to be a former landfill and has a wonderful 360 degree view of Raleigh and the surrounding areas. It’s a quick hike up to the top and you get to watch a beautiful sunset. You just have to ignore the slight scent of an old landfill. Totally worth it, especially when accompanied by great friends.

If you’re ever in the Raleigh area, make sure you check out Jumpin’ Jonny’s at the Brier Creek shopping center and on the other side of Raleigh you can see the great view on top of a landfill. High class fun in the heart of the Carolinas.

Ha- thats right high end all the way!
Is it bad that I’m drooling looking at your picture? (Of the buffalo chicken, not the landfill that is)
    Miss you.

Completely acceptable. I drool when I think about Jumping Johnny’s all the time. 🙂 And I miss you too!! Can’t wait to see you again, hopefully very soon!
