The Art of Being Humbled in the Chick-fil-A Drive-thru

April 17, 2012

Step 1: Go to bed with too much on your mind.

Step 2: Wake up in a mood that lies somewhere between “meh” and “Tuesday is just Monday’s manipulative and nearly-as-bad red-headed stepsister.”

Step 3: Go to work in said mood.

Step 4: Develop a raging headache that makes you wonder if the red-headed Tuesday has begun picking at your brain with a Bic pen.

Step 5: Go to lunch and read an email that shouldn’t hurt your feelings, but it does because—did I mention?—you’re in a bad mood. The day is now firmly cemented in your mind as sucky.

Step 6: Drive up to the Chick-fil-A window and discover that the car in front of you paid for your meal.

Step 7: Realize you’re a whiny American who freaks out over really stupid things.

On a related note, I have a headache, and have been in a blah mood. So perhaps I need to take a trip to CFA.

And even if it’s not free, it’s still Chick-fil-A! Win/Win.
